How We Started
1974
Dennis founded DeSimone in 1974, primary as a carpentry business. He worked in the field along with other contractors, completing rough carpentry and finished work projects, through 1982.
1976
His brother Albert joined the business in 1976, also performing carpentry work, primarily in the residential space.
1980s & 1990s
Significant to DeSimone’s roots: The company’s original pineapple logo and “The Hospitality Company” tagline reflects its roots in residential construction. For two decades, this brass pineapple greeted clients visiting the office. The wood plane speaks to the company’s value and commitment to provide old world craftsmanship in each of its projects. Dennis’ The Bank of Gloucester County Directorship plaque denotes the company’s period of expansion in the commercial construction space. The 1997 photograph, featuring Dennis with other Anderson Window Company graduates, symbolizes the company’s expertise and focus on offering only the best and most valuable products to clients.
1990’s
DeSimone’s team was featured in this Gloucester County Times issue, featuring the construction of The Bank of Gloucester County’s new branch in Woodbury.
1990s
When Dennis (pictured next to the sign) transitioned from the field to the office to complete the bidding process, managing projects, and overseeing the office staff, DeSimone had 15 full time carpenters executing on projects. Al DeSimone (pictured in the center) oversaw the company’s field operations.
1990s
Builder Architect 2006 Feature:
DeSimone received extensive exposure through a multi-page feature article in this South and Central Jersey edition of Builder/Architect.
2012
Albert’s son Anthony, to whom Dennis transitioned the leadership role of the company in 2019, joined his father and uncle as a Project Manager in 2012.
With his passion for construction and advanced knowledge of technology, Anthony has been instrumental in developing and managing programs that provide clients, designers, and architect online tracking of construction projects in progress, as well as ensure subcontractors and material suppliers have the most recent project plans and specifications.
The success of these programs has been well received by clients, professionals, tradesmen and peers, earning Anthony much respect in the industry
2014
In 2014, DeSimone marked its 40th year of business. The company hosted a party to celebrate this milestone with its employees, clients and partners.
2014
After extensive research, the company rebranded and adopted its signature tagline.
2016
It’s only fitting that DeSimone, the Masters of Every Detail in craftsmanship, made the investment in the Procore management tool to master the intricacies of the construction process.
While Procore is primarily used by much larger companies, DeSimone credits the use of this leading construction management technology for significantly streamlining its processes and doubling its revenues over the past couple of years.
2016
Dennis DeSimone honored for his commitment to Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey (CSPNJ).
2017
Best of Biz Award. DeSimone was honored with SJ Biz 2017 designation.
2017
Anthony DeSimone recognized in South Jersey Biz Magazine’s “20 Under 40”.
2020
Bobbie Simonelli, who was part of the office staff, and worked for the company for 28 years retired.
2020
Acenda Integrated Health honored DeSimone with its Circle of Impact award.
2022
DeSimone becomes a United Way of Gloucester County Small Business Circle member, contributing to mini-grants that support grassroots efforts to improve health, education, and economic stability throughout the County.

Dennis DeSimone honored with Delaware Valley University Alumni Association Science Award. Dennis graduated in 1972 with a Biology Degree from (then) Deleware Valley College and has contributed to its Science Department’s continued success.

DeSimone contributed $10,000 to GC Habitat for Humanity as a Corporate Sponsor of the next build in Clayton. In March 2023, the company employees expedited the construction process by framing the home in three days. Watch the video here.

At DeSimone, construction is our industry and only part of what we do. Our process starts with meeting with our clients, completing a design build process, and then managing the construction of their dream project. Informed by brand positioning research, we’ve refined our logo to better reflect our conception to completion services. While were moving away from the DeSimone name, we’ll forever stay the masters of every detail.
2023
DeSimone begins renovations on a 13,000 square foot former medical building in Glassboro, NJ. The company will occupy 8,000 square feet of space and lease 5,000 square feet.
DeSimone is honored as a Leader in the Project Management/Construction Management category by NJBIZ Magazine’s, Leaders in Real Estate, Construction and Design 2023.
DeSimone receives the prestigious Judge’s Choice Award at the annual Lutron Excellence Award ceremony on September 7, 2023.
